What's this all about?

In case you're wondering where this comes from, it arises out of a few posts (or "tweets") I exchanged on Twitter:

My question: When did people start calling a "blog post" a "blog"? To me that's like calling a book chapter or page a book. Noobs v. oldskool?

@stacybond answered: This has been going on for like, a year. It drives me INSANE.

Me: I first saw references to a blog post as "a blog" about 2 years ago. Hate it. "I wrote a newspaper today!" (vs. article)

@stacybond: I hope it stops. Don't give in! This is similar to when everyone started saying "that's so cliche" instead of "clicheD." GRRRR.

@bvl: haha... too funny. Great realization. I hate it too.

And finally, @andrewcherwenka: you should write a blog about that.
